My dearest Poppy was supposed to be my first breeding queen, but sadly that was never meant to be, as when at 4 months old on a routine trip to the vets, a heart murmur was diagnosed and she was therefore spayed. A complete Diva, but with the most loving of natures. She was the first to greet any visitor, and more often than not delve into their handbags. She ruled all the other Saikous with a rod of iron and they all had the utmost respect for her. All Saikou kittens went out into the world completely fearless because Aunty Poppy taught them how.
Her heart murmur never appeared to bother her, she was the only one who could leap from the scratching post in the lounge to the arm of the sofa, a distance of over 5 feet. Sadly and very suddenly on 03 May 2006 she suffered an enormous heart attack and in an instant she had gone. I know she has been reunited with her beloved Jazz, whose side she never left in his last few weeks of life.
A lone stripy in house full of selfs , my own mini lion cub and a huge purrsonality her passing has left another huge hole in my life that will never be filled.
